John DiAntonio

Playwright

John DiAntonio is the artistic director of the Tony Award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival. He was the former producing artistic director of Creede Repertory Theatre (CRT) in Colorado. He has a passion for developing new plays and was fundamental in the creation and development of the Headwaters New Play Festival. Before CRT, he worked for twelve years as an actor, director, and playwright based in New York, Los Angeles, and Denver. John has had ten original plays produced, including five that have toured around the Southwest. Original scripts include Kind of Red, Harry the Great, Reading! And Other Superpowers, Suspended, Hansel or Gretel, Alice in the Bookstore Palace, ¡Viva Agua!, Saving Red, and more. He grew up in Pittsburgh, earning his BA from Case Western Reserve University and his MFA from the National Theatre Conservatory. John and his wife, Caitlin, are thrilled to be living in Cedar City with their three kids.
