Tamra Borchardt-Slayton is the Indian Peaks Band chairperson and tribal council member for the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah, the family advocate coordinator for the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah, and an adjunct professor for Southern Utah University. She is an enrolled member of the Indian Peaks Band of the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah.

Tamra has over a decade of experience working on federal grants and developing programming for tribal communities. Specializing in the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah's complex history, Tamra uses that expertise to create programming to holistically approach the Pouw'wan "family" connection by braiding in support to strengthen her tribal community.

She also has over a decade of experience in tribal and band leadership. Tamra strongly believes in advocating for marginalized communities and has been appointed to sit on various boards and task forces to implement and research meaningful policy changes.

Tamra graduated from Southern Utah University with a bachelor's degree in sociology and history and has a master's degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, in tribal administration and governance.

Her new goal is to develop and strengthen the Tiwahe National Program objectives that her tribe has renamed the Pouw'wan "family" program and establish the tribe's first-ever court.
