Mick Batt is the author of Fatal Skies, a memoir of his Alaska bush-flying adventures, featuring unbelievable flying experiences, survival stories, outstanding fishing, and dangerous encounters with bears. After spending the first 18 years of his FAA career in Alaska, he devoted the final 20 years to training future air traffic controllers at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. After retiring, Mick and his wife, Kelly, missed the mountains and relocated to southern Utah, where they enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, pickleball, and other outdoor adventures.
