Shauri Thacker

While born and raised in Duchesne County, Shauri currently resides in Weber County, where she is significantly closer to the Loveland Aquarium. She is an original member of the Southern Utah Book Festival crew, having laid the foundation for publication design and social media.

She is a graduate of Southern Utah University's English department and has put her creative writing degree to work for the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, her alumna mater's Grace A. Tanner Center for Human Values, and her editing passion project Exposed Bone.

Shauri writes poetry and the occasional nonfiction piece under "Shauri Cherie," a name that represents her work well: "Shauri," inspired by her parents' love of Star Trek, for her bookish tendancies; "Cherie" for the family who shapes and supports her.
